Every year the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra hosts a fundraising dinner. It’s a night of eating, dancing and live jazz and held, as the name hints at, outdoors. We were asked to design invites, RSVP cards and menus. In the spirit of jazz, I wanted to create dynamic harmony. Free floating instruments held together by an underlying grid. Moody, muted palette contrasted with bright stars. Loud custom type complemented by neutral geometric body text. The end result feels sophisticated yet energetic.
